I begin with the
acknowledgments of two deaths: Anne Nightingale and Ted Goodman relating
stories about both. Stories, not anecdotes.
I then went on
to discuss a number of cases from my files starting with an allegation of
gang-rape that was thrown out by the judge without going to the jury.
Some of the
cases discussed herein are amusing but not the case of the guy who was
convicted of raping his 9 year old daughter, a conviction that was later
overturned. I spent some time discussing this after playing a short clip of a
news report.
The weirdest
case was that of a doctor in California who was tried for and acquitted of
rape.
I ended with a
very brief mention of not a false allegation of rape but of paternity against a
rock musician.
